A selection from the original Afghan Desk image collection, gathering landscapes, food and cultural details preserved since the website’s early years.

Many files are small by today’s standards, but they remain meaningful records of how the first site told its stories. Newer photographs now appear on the relevant place pages, while this section keeps the character of the original collection.
